British Superbike Championship – Round 6 Preview

Following on from Josh Waters’ debut win in British Superbike last time out at Brands Hatch on the GP circuit, and his podium for the Yoshimura Suzuki team at the Suzuka 8 Hours in Japan last weekend – the Tyco Suzuki team is looking forward to this weekend’s BSB action at Thruxton during round six, which gets underway today.

Josh Waters:
“Yeah I was made up to get my first win for Tyco Suzuki at Brands and then to go and be part of the Suzuki success story at Suzuka with the Yoshimura team just capped it all off. It’s been a long couple of weeks with lots of travelling, but we need to knuckle down now this weekend at Thruxton and see if we can get back to the sharp end again on the GSX-R1000 Superbike.”

John Hopkins:
“Brands showed a lot of promise for me but didn’t quite deliver what I was looking for. Race one was both disappointing and frustrating having to start from the back of the grid after putting in good work in qualifying. Then in race two after a strong start, getting right to the front, I just struggled for grip and had to bring it home. Let’s see if Thruxton will be a little kinder to us.”

Philip Neill – Team Manager:

“Thruxton is a circuit that’s been good to us in the past and as Josh says, we now need to build on what we achieved at Brands. John was a little bit unfortunate at Brands and deserves a bit of luck, so let’s hope the tables turn this weekend and fortune favours the brave, as everyone in the Tyco Suzuki team has been putting in a big effort.”
