Last year we helped road race rider, Jordan Weaving, and will be helping him again in 2013. Read our interview with him below.
“In the British Nationals the year went really well for me. In the Motostar Class where I compete on my Seel RS125 Honda I was able to do 8 rounds only due to my Red Bull MotoGP Rookies Cup events overlapping BSB.
We arrived in England from South Africa in 2011 and I road a full season at BSB. Had a lot of new circuits to learn but ended 8th in the Championship. With 2011 circuit knowledge under my belt 2012 saw me running up front with the fast boys and out of the 8 races I took 2 x seconds, 3 x thirds. Had 2 falls – one at Brands in the lead and one at Knockhill when in second due to track contamination. The last race at Brands was disappointing as I ran in second and third the whole race only to run off track and finish 5th just two corners from the flag. That’s racing I guess. Finished 6th in the Championship.
This year I will again be riding the Red Bull MotoGP Rookies Cup Championship on a KTM 250 Moto3 bike and will also do as many BSB rounds as I can, will keep you updated during the year.
I have been road racing since I was 7 years old. I started on a TZRR50cc Yamaha and then a Honda CBR150 and finally on a RS125GP bike all in South Africa.
We have always used Talon sprockets right from the beginning, also Talon clutch baskets on our GP Honda 125. We have found the quality of their products superb, as well as their advice, back-up and service – so big thanks to Talon. So good to see great engineering and products from a British Company. Find out for yourself – once tried you will not want to change perfection.”
